Meet Our Directors
Danny & Lynn
Danny Mishkin is a proven innovator for Jewish teen programming. Danny earned a Masters in Jewish Education at Hebrew Union College to make a career in Jewish Education. Danny was selected as a fellow in The Leadership Institute, a joint program of the Jewish Theological Seminary and Hebrew Union College. Danny is one of the co-founders of Sababa Beach Camps, and he is thrilled to combine his two passions of surfing and Jewish education to help kids feel the stoke that comes from each. Before becoming the Director of Sababa, Danny helped three failing or non-existent synagogue youth programs grow into thriving, exciting teen communities. Danny began his career working with kids at Camp Wildwood in Bridgton, ME for 7 summers, eventually becoming Athletic Director. Exposing Jewish youth to a more spiritually balanced life through surfing and other ocean activities is what Danny was born to do.
Lynn Lancaster is passionate about working with Jewish children and families. Lynn began her career first as a teacher and then as the director of an early childhood program in the Glen Cove, New York, synagogue at which she had herself been a student. For the past 15 years, she has been the Director of Congregational Education at the Forest Hills Jewish Center, overseeing all aspects of the Center’s educational programs, including the Religious School, High School, Family Education, Adult Education and Youth Programming. Lynn has a proven track record in envisioning, creating, and successfully implementing thoughtful and innovative programs. Lynn has worked in the visioning and implementation of The Leadership Institute, a joint program of the Jewish Theological Seminary and Hebrew Union College. It is this work and her love for working with tweens and teens that led her to co-found Sababa Surf Camp.
