SABABA ISRAEL 2026

Discover Israel and its many treasures on a transformative Sababa journey with a focus on surfing, scuba diving, other marine/sea adventures in nature and cultural connections.

Sababa is partnering with JCC Maccabi for an exciting new 3-week Sababa Israel experience for rising 10th - 12th graders. This program will include regular surfing instruction for those just learning and those surfing for years, sightseeing, participation in chesed (volunteering) programs and ending with a 5-day scuba program that allows campers to get an open water dive certification or advance their diver skills. There will be alternative activities during surf and scuba programming.

More than a tour, this is an opportunity to understand Israel's dynamic society first-hand while finding your own connection to this storied land. Explore what it means to be Jewish from an Israeli point of view, understand the complex politics of the Middle East with real-world insights, and practice Jewish values through hands-on volunteering and Shabbat experiences.

 

 Program highlights:

We will visit new and historical Jerusalem, modern Tel Aviv, Haifa, the vast Negev Desert, Western Galilee, the unsinkable Dead Sea, and the stark mountaintop fortress of Masada. Along the way, you’ll surf in the Mediterranean Sea from Tel Aviv, Asheklon, Nahariya and Haifa; scuba dive in Eilat; explore the Red Sea at the Underwater Observatory Marine Park; take part in an authentic archaeological dig; snorkel at the Coral Beach National Park; visit Re’im where the Nova music festival occured, and sample the world’s very best falafel.

Rates:

All-inclusive Israel Experience cost is $10.990. We are a proud partner of RootOne, and our campers can apply for a grant of $3,000 towards the cost of their Israel experience. Note: Campers enrolling in Voyage 1 prior to the Israel trip will receive a $1005 discount off their Voyage 1 tuition.
